About his education he did his MBBS from Rural medical college, Loni, and completed an Internship at District Civil hospital, Ahmednagar after that he completed his DNB in General Surgery from Mediciti medical college at Hyderabad. After that, he joined the super specialization course of DNB in Vascular surgery at prestigious Narayana health city in Bangalore which is a world-renowned center of excellence in cardiac and vascular diseases under the leadership of a world-renowned cardiac surgeon Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty. He was trained at Narayana Hrudayalaya, Bangalore, a world-renowned cardiac center as a DNB resident in the Department of Vascular Sciences. The unit performs the entire range of vascular procedures and is well equipped with a fully-equipped hybrid lab, Ultrasound machines, an advanced wound care center with state of the art diagnostic and CAD assisted footwear support in addition to Radiology and Nuclear Medicine support
Dr Oak is Consultant in the department of peripheral vascular and endovascular surgery at Aditya Birla Memorial hospital, Pune since June 2016.He is pioneer in starting vascular surgery department at Aditya Birla hospital . He is also associated as visiting consultant to many other superspeciality hospitals and centres in pune city and also other cities of Maharashtra as Satara ,Karad,Baramati,Ahmednagar,Solapur with satellite centres for opd consultations for opd advise and further care .He is also a visiting faculty at DY Patil hospital and medical college and research center.

Professional experience
Dr. Harshwardhan Oak perform various procedures independently and has vast experience of vascular surgeries . This includes open surgeries such as dialysis access for kidney failure patients called as AV fistula , femoral-popliteal bypass, femoro- tibial bypass for lower limb arterial occlusion ,aorto femoral bypass ,axillo femoral bypass ,embolectomy ,thrombectomy for arterial thrombosis of upper limb and lower limb . He also performs Endovascular procedures lower limb arterial angioplasty and stenting , such as DSA,lower limb Angiograms, central line access (chemo port, Hickman catheter, permcath ), central vein angioplasty/ stenting, fistuloplasty, CIA, EIA and SFA angioplasty/stenting, IVC filter placement and retrieval, catheter directed thrombolysis CDT,aortic stent graft repair for aortic aneurysm
In addition he performs minor and outpatient surgical procedures such as USG guided sclerotherapy, diabetic foot management ,podiatry procedures .He has performed close to 1000 endovenous laser ablative procedures for varicose veins ,EVLA which is his area of expertise and interest
He has performed various emergency procedures such as – femoral/poplitealembolectomy and, leg fasciotomy, above knee and below knee amputations ,traumatic repair of arteries crushed or damaged in road traffic accidents .He has saved many legs and hands and lives in his career that’s why his mission is SAVE LIMBS SAVE LIVES
