Open surgery for gangrene and PVD and leg ulcer
One of our patients who had PVD and foot ulcer and was told to do amputation and came to us and after 4 weeks of hard work, we could save his leg from
amputation.
- Though it will seem very disturbing to see the pictures of open surgery for patients and relatives of PVD patients it can be fruitful and worthwhile once the leg is saved from amputation and cutting.
Role of open surgery

- Prefer occlusion over angioplasty
